Wanting to spend time doing something that could truly make the world a bit better I applied for the emmaus accelerator challenge and got accepted.

Our challenge was: "Emmaus Fredriskdal has very popular vintage stores that promote the reuse of the excessive material wealth we already have in society. To reuse even more clothes and give more money to aid they want to start selling their clothes online. But how?"

Ours assignment was to:

  • Code web service that supports online trade of clothes
  • Take into account the people working in a Emmaus store and how to integrate them
  • Develop a plan how to reach out with the store to already existing Emmaus customers to make them shop more and how to reach out to non-Emmaus shoppers
  • Make it possible to resell clothes among people themselves with the purpose of increasing usage of second hand clothes

The challenge was really inspiring and resulted in an application used by emmaus today. The project also introduced me to the start-up world in Malmö and Lund in which i spent the following summer working with the mobile device application "Luckan".
